Fused Zirconia Mullite

Fused zirconium mullite is a synthetic material made of industrial alumina with a purity of ≥98.5% and grade 1 zircon concentrate (ZrO2≥66%), which is melted at high temperature in an electric arc furnace. It has high purity, good grain development, and excellent corrosion resistance.

Fused zirconium mullite is the basic raw material for manufacturing high-quality aluminum zirconium carbon slide plates and long nozzles for large plate continuous casting machines in the metallurgical industry. It can also be used in the glass industry, etc. Its main physical and chemical indicators have reached the advanced level of similar products at home and abroad. It is a high-quality domestic raw material that replaces imported chemical products.

Product Applications

Fused Zirconia-Mullite can be used as filler in refractory applications, ceramic glaze to improve its thermal shock resistance, or glass polishing agents. The use of fused zirconia-mullites makes it possible to reduce production costs while maintaining performance levels comparable with traditional materials such as magnesia and alumina.

Refractory Grade FZM:
Refractory grade fused zirconia-mullite is used for the manufacture of high-temperature refractories and ceramic fiber products. It finds its applications in various industries such as glass, steel, metallurgy, petroleum refining, and so on. The growing demand from these end-user industries like the petrochemical sector is projected to drive market growth over the forecast period.

Ceramic Grade FZM:
The ceramic grade is a class of ultra-high purity fused zirconia (UHPZ), which can be used in the form of ceramics. These are made from UHP ZrO and produce ceramic disks with high density, low porosity, and extremely low metal ion content for use as substrates to grow oxide thin films and epitaxial layers on them. It has been widely used as an intermediary material for the diffusion barrier layer when fabricating multilayered electronic devices by chemical vapor deposition or atomic layer deposition processes.
