Andalusite brick is a premium high-alumina refractory brick manufactured with natural high-purity andalusite mineral as the primary raw material, matched with mullite powder, sillimanite powder and high-quality bonding agents, then shaped by high-pressure pressing and sintered at ultra-high temperature above 1500℃.
Natural andalusite will steadily convert into stable needle-shaped mullite crystals when heated above 1350℃. This irreversible mineral transformation greatly improves the brick’s high-temperature strength, volume stability and anti-slag penetration capacity, making andalusite bricks far superior to ordinary high-alumina bricks in thermal shock resistance and high-temperature creep performance.
With low impurity content, low thermal expansion coefficient and stable chemical inertness against both acidic and weak alkaline slag, andalusite refractory bricks become the preferred lining material for industrial kilns that face frequent sharp temperature fluctuations and long-term high-temperature load conditions.
