Product detail
Directly Bonded magnesite chrome bricks
Product Parameters

Directly Bonded magnesite chrome bricks are made of magnesite and chromite, fired at high temperature with excellent resistances in thermal shock, slag attack, thermal fatigue, and vacuum damage. Furthermore, they also have better resistance to Oxidation-reduction, and resistance to wear and erosion. Under vacuum refining conditions or strong oxidation atmosphere, or ultra high temperature molten fluid erosion, or high alkaline slag and alkalinity-changing slag erosion, their lifetime is only second to fused-bonded bricks, but more economical. They are widely used in metallurgical Furnaces (RH Degasser, VOD Ladles, AOD Converters, EAF Furnaces, Converters, etc) as working linings or safety linings of critical parts, and also in on-ferrous Smelting Furnaces as working linings (such as IC3 Converters, Pierce Smith Furnaces, Noranda Furnaces, Outokumpu Flash Smelting Furnaces, Reverberatory Furnaces etc).Sometimes they are used in Chemical Industries and Paper Industries furnaces as working lining bricks.

1. Excellent thermal shock stability: the brick can withstand rapid temperature changes without cracking or spalling, ensuring a longer service life and higher efficiency for high-temperature furnaces.
2. Strong slag resistance: the brick has a high chemical stability and can resist erosion and dissolution by various types of slag liquids, including basic slag, acidic slag, and neutral slag.
3. Resistance to overheating damage: the brick can maintain its structural integrity and mechanical properties even under severe conditions of overheating. This property is particularly important for the lining of high-temperature furnaces where the operating temperature is over 2000°C.
4. Resistance to vacuum damage: the brick can maintain its structural stability and mechanical properties even under the vacuum condition, which is essential for applications in vacuum smelting.
5. Excellent oxidation-reduction capability: the brick has a high-temperature resistance to oxidation and reduction reaction and can resist the detrimental effects of strong oxidizing or reducing atmospheres, making it suitable for use in diverse high-temperature environments.
6. Good wear-resistant and erosion-resistant properties: the brick can resist mechanical wear and chemical erosion, ensuring a longer service life and more stable performance for high-temperature furnaces.
Product Application
2. Non-ferrous metal metallurgical furnaces – Directly bonded magnesia chromite brick is suitable for use in IC3 converters, SMITH furnaces, NORANDA furnaces, OUTOKUMP flash furnaces, and regenerative furnaces.
3. Industrial kilns – It is also used in industrial kilns such as those in chemical and papermaking plants due to its good resistance to alkaline slag liquids and alkalinity changes.
4. Glass furnaces – Directly bonded magnesia chromite brick is used in the construction of glass furnaces due to its excellent thermal shock stability and slag resistance.
5. Waste incinerators – Directly bonded magnesia chromite brick can be used in the construction of waste incinerators due to its good wear and erosion resistance.
