Silica Insulation Brick – High Temperature Lightweight Refractory Insulation Brick
1. Product Overview
Silica insulation brick is a kind of lightweight acidic refractory insulation material with high silica content. With SiO₂ content above 91%, the product is manufactured from high-purity silica raw materials through fine grinding, uniform mixing, moulding and high-temperature sintering. Thanks to its uniform porous internal structure, silica insulation brick features low bulk density, extremely low thermal conductivity and stable high-temperature performance.
Different from heavy silica bricks, lightweight silica insulation bricks are mainly used for thermal insulation layers instead of working linings. They can long-term withstand high temperatures of 1500℃ to 1550℃ without obvious shrinkage or deformation, which makes them a classic high-temperature energy-saving insulation material for industrial kilns.

Excellent high temperature stability: The brick maintains stable volume at ultra-high temperature, with slight thermal expansion that effectively seals brick joints and prevents heat leakage. It will not shrink or loosen during long-term furnace operation.

Strong acid corrosion resistance: As an acidic refractory material, it has excellent resistance to acid flue gas and acid slag erosion, suitable for acidic high-temperature working environments.

4. Application Scope
Silica insulation brick is widely used for thermal insulation of high-temperature industrial kilns working above 1400℃, especially suitable for acidic furnace environments.

It is mainly used as backup insulation lining, not recommended for direct contact with severe scouring, molten slag and frequent rapid temperature changes.
5. Usage Notes
Silica insulation brick has good high-temperature performance but poor thermal shock resistance below 600℃. During furnace ignition and shutdown, slow heating and slow cooling are required to avoid brick cracking caused by drastic temperature difference. Meanwhile, avoid long-term water soaking and low-temperature wet environment to ensure service life.
