Dense Structure Anti-Slag Refractory Fire Clay Brick

Product Overview

Low Porosity Fireclay Brick is a high-performance alumina-silica refractory product made of high-quality flint clay clinker. It is shaped by high-pressure molding and sintered at a high temperature between 1380℃ and 1450℃. Unlike ordinary fireclay bricks with loose internal structures, its apparent porosity is controlled below 17%, forming a tight and dense brick body.
The alumina content of this brick ranges from 35% to 45%. It features stable refractoriness, strong mechanical strength and remarkable anti-slag penetration performance. It effectively fixes many defects of common fireclay bricks, such as easy erosion by slag, short service life and frequent lining maintenance. It is a cost-effective lining material widely used for medium and high-temperature industrial furnaces.

Production Technology

First of all, high-quality calcined flint clay, soft refractory clay and low-iron additives are selected as raw materials. The iron oxide content is strictly controlled under 2.5% to avoid high-temperature bubbling and softening of the brick.
Secondly, automatic hydraulic high-pressure molding is adopted to reduce internal gaps inside the brick, which lays a solid foundation for low porosity and high bulk density.
Then the bricks are sintered at constant high temperature for a long period. The firing temperature is kept at 1380℃ to 1450℃ to fully form mullite crystals and greatly cut down open pores inside the brick body.
Finally, every batch of finished bricks will go through complete quality inspection. Test items include cold crushing strength, apparent porosity, refractoriness under load and thermal shock resistance to guarantee stable quality before shipment.

Core Product Advantages

  1. Ultra-low apparent porosity from 12% to 17%

The dense internal structure can stop molten slag, flue gas and liquid metal from penetrating the brick, slowing down internal corrosion significantly.

  2. High cold crushing strength and good wear resistance

The brick can withstand long-term mechanical friction and material impact, with less surface peeling during furnace operation.

  3. Strong resistance to slag and acid corrosion

It keeps stable when exposed to acidic ash, glass liquid and metallurgical slag, suitable for complex high-temperature chemical environments.

  4. Good thermal shock resistance

It has a low linear thermal expansion rate, and will not crack or peel off under frequent sharp temperature changes.

  5. Extended service life

Its service cycle is 2 to 3 times longer than regular fireclay bricks, which reduces furnace shutdown frequency and replacement costs.

  6. Stable thermal insulation performance

Low thermal conductivity and good heat storage capacity help improve furnace heat efficiency and lower fuel consumption.

Application Scope

Low Porosity Fireclay Brick can adapt to harsh medium and high-temperature working conditions in various industries.

Metallurgical industry: lining of blast furnaces, hot blast stoves, hot metal ladles, mixers and dry coke quenching equipment.

Glass industry: regenerator, hot chamber, flue and channel lining of glass kilns to resist erosion from molten glass.

Petrochemical and carbon industry: carbon roasting furnaces, heating furnaces, reformer furnaces and all kinds of industrial heat treatment kilns.

Cement and ceramic manufacturing: rotary kiln upper walls, preheaters, flues and shuttle kiln lining for ceramic production.

Other high-temperature equipment: industrial boilers, waste incinerators, heat storage chambers, furnace doors and burner linings.
