Product Overview

Fused magnesia, also known as fused magnesium oxide, is a high-purity, high-performance refractory raw material produced by melting high-grade magnesite or light-burned magnesia in ultra-high temperature electric arc furnaces above 2700°C. Through high-temperature fusion, crystallization, cooling, crushing and screening processes, the final product features dense crystal structure, extremely low porosity, excellent chemical stability and superior high-temperature mechanical properties. As one of the most essential advanced refractory materials, fused magnesia is widely recognized for its outstanding resistance to high temperature, corrosion, thermal shock and abrasion, serving as a core raw material for high-end refractory products and industrial high-temperature equipment manufacturing.
Different from ordinary sintered magnesia, fused magnesia forms complete and large magnesium oxide crystals after electro-fusion treatment. Its internal structure is tighter and more stable, with fewer internal defects.
