High Chrome Refractory Brick Compatible with Castable for Industrial Furnace Repair Work
1. Product Overview
High Chrome Brick is a premium neutral
refractory block with Cr₂O₃ content ranging from 75% to 95%, classified as GGZ-75, GGZ-85, GGZ-90 and GGZ-95 based on chrome oxide proportion. It is manufactured with high-purity fused chromium oxide and industrial alumina as primary raw materials, plus a tiny amount of zirconia as stabilizer. After precise batching, high-pressure molding, low-temperature drying and ultra-high-temperature sintering above 1800℃, the brick forms stable (Cr,Al)₂O₃ solid solution microstructure, with total Cr₂O₃+Al₂O₃+ZrO₂ ≥98%.
Different from common magnesia chrome bricks, high chrome brick features outstanding anti-slag and anti-melt erosion performance, and barely reacts with acidic or alkaline high-temperature media, making it the optimal lining material for severely corrosive kiln sections.
2. Core Superior Performance
- Extreme Resistance to Acid & Alkali Corrosion
Chromium oxide hardly generates chemical reactions with molten glass, fuel slag, flue gas alkali and acid substances. The erosion rate under 1600℃ molten slag is lower than 0.3mm per 24 hours, effectively avoiding brick peeling and furnace penetration failure.
- Ultra-High Refractoriness & High-Temperature Stability
The melting point of Cr₂O₃ reaches 2275℃; its load softening temperature exceeds 1700℃. It maintains stable volume and mechanical strength under long-term continuous high-temperature operation without obvious creep deformation.
- Excellent Thermal Shock Resistance
Low thermal expansion coefficient enables the brick to endure drastic temperature fluctuation. After repeated heating to 1100℃ and water cooling, no cracks or spalling occur, adapting to frequent start-stop furnace working conditions.
- High Mechanical Strength & Wear Resistance
Normal-temperature compressive strength ≥100MPa, high-temperature rupture strength at 1500℃ ≥25MPa. Low abrasion loss under high-speed material scouring, suitable for flow holes, feeding ports and furnace bottom paving with severe friction.
- Neutral Chemical Characteristic
Compatible with both acid and alkaline refractory castables, mortars and other lining materials, convenient for furnace repair and composite lining construction.
3. Main Application Fields
Glass Industry (Core Scenario)
Applied to heavy corrosion parts of E-glass furnaces, alkali-free fiber
glass kilns and soda-lime glass melting tanks: melting pool sidewalls, furnace throat, bubbler surrounding blocks, forehearth, flow channel, doghouse and clarifying tank lining. It effectively resists erosion from molten glass and volatile alkali vapor, greatly extending furnace service life.
Coal Chemical & Petrochemical Industry
Lining for gasifiers, synthetic ammonia converters and high-temperature reaction furnaces. It withstands erosion of high-temperature coal slag and acidic flue gas, matching working temperature range 640℃–1300℃.
Metallurgical & Non-Ferrous Smelting
Used for electric arc furnace
slag line, converter lining, slag runner, liquid metal flow holes and feeding outlets, resisting erosion of molten steel and non-ferrous slag.
Waste Incineration & Environmental Thermal Equipment
Key lining blocks of municipal solid waste incinerators and hazardous waste disposal furnaces, coping with complex mixed corrosive ash and flue gas.
Industrial Furnace Maintenance
Compatible with monolithic refractory
castable repair works, can be matched with high-chrome refractory mortar to repair damaged castable layers on cylindrical furnace walls such as API 560 gas-fired heaters.
4. Production Process & Quality Control
We adopt full-automatic raw material batching system to strictly control Cr₂O₃ purity and impurity content. High-pressure friction press ensures uniform bulk density of finished bricks. Products are fired in long tunnel kilns with stable temperature field to eliminate internal stress.
Each batch undergoes full physical and chemical inspection: chemical composition test, bulk density, apparent porosity, compressive strength, thermal shock test and slag corrosion test. All technical indexes comply with international refractory industry standards, and inspection reports can be provided upon client request. Custom sizes, special shapes and special-grade high chrome bricks with customized indexes are available.
5. Packing & Delivery
Standard products are bundled with plastic straps and loaded on fumigated wooden pallets, covered with waterproof plastic film to prevent moisture during sea transportation. Customized packaging schemes can be arranged according to container loading requirements. Short lead time for mass orders, FOB port and door-to-door delivery solutions are both supported.
