Alumina Bubble Brick – Lightweight High Temperature Insulation Refractory Brick

Product Overview

Alumina bubble brick is a high-performance lightweight insulating refractory material manufactured by melting high-purity alumina raw materials to form hollow alumina bubbles, followed by batching, moulding and high-temperature firing. Featuring uniform closed pore structure, this product combines ultra-low thermal conductivity, stable volume at high temperature and remarkable thermal insulation performance.
With alumina content above 99%, alumina bubble brick can withstand long-term high-temperature service. It is widely adopted as insulating lining in high-temperature industrial furnaces, effectively reducing heat loss, lowering energy consumption and improving overall furnace operation efficiency.

Key Characteristics

Alumina bubble brick possesses outstanding high-temperature volume stability, with minimal shrinkage under continuous high-temperature conditions, and will not easily crack or deform during long-term furnace operation. The closed bubble structure greatly reduces thermal conductivity, delivering excellent heat insulation effect compared with ordinary lightweight refractory bricks.
The material boasts superior chemical stability and strong resistance to oxidation. It can adapt to oxidizing atmosphere and neutral atmosphere environments. It has good anti-peeling performance under frequent temperature fluctuations, suitable for working conditions with periodic furnace startup and shutdown.
The product has low bulk density, which lightens the overall weight of furnace lining, reduces the load on furnace body structure. Standard-sized bricks are available, and custom shapes can be produced according to the structural requirements of different furnaces.
It should be noted that alumina bubble brick is not suitable for working environments with severe molten slag erosion and strong alkali gas corrosion.

Application Range

Alumina bubble brick is used for thermal insulation lining in various ultra-high temperature industrial furnaces. In the ceramic industry, it serves as the insulation layer of high-temperature shuttle kilns and tunnel kilns. In the metallurgy industry, it is applied in high-temperature sintering furnaces, heat treatment furnaces and smelting furnaces.
The product is also commonly used in petrochemical high-temperature reaction furnaces, laboratory high-temperature furnaces, powder metallurgy sintering furnaces and glass industrial furnaces. It can be used as back lining insulation material behind heavy refractory bricks to form composite furnace lining structure.

Product Grades

Alumina bubble brick is divided into multiple grades according to bulk density. Different grades correspond to different thermal conductivity and compressive strength to meet diversified working condition requirements. Low-density grade products focus on heat insulation performance for static insulation layers; medium-density grade balances strength and insulation capacity, applicable for positions bearing slight mechanical load.
