Silica Ramming Mass | High-Performance Acidic Refractory Lining for Induction Furnace
Product Introduction
Silica ramming mass, also known as acidic ramming mass, is a high-performance unshaped refractory material manufactured from high-purity quartz sand and silica powder, compounded with mineralizers and special binders. It adopts scientific particle gradation and forms a dense monolithic lining after mechanical or manual ramming, followed by baking and sintering.
As an acidic refractory material, silica ramming mass features excellent volume stability, outstanding thermal shock resistance and high electrical resistivity. It is the preferred lining material for coreless induction furnaces in foundry and metallurgy industries.
Key Features
- High silica purity, excellent resistance against acidic slag erosion, effectively avoid contamination to molten metal.
- Superior thermal shock stability. The sintered lining resists rapid temperature fluctuation, hardly cracks under intermittent furnace operation.
- Good volume stability after sintering, low permanent linear change, reduce lining peeling risk.
- High electrical insulation performance, effectively prevent short circuit of induction coils.
- Convenient construction. Dry-type ramming can be realized directly on site, compatible with both manual and pneumatic ramming tools.
- Short baking cycle after furnace building, improve equipment operation efficiency and lower maintenance downtime.
Technical Advantages
Our silica ramming mass is strictly controlled in raw material selection and mixing process. We optimize particle grading to achieve higher compactness after ramming. The formulated mineralizer promotes sufficient phase transformation during heating, forming stable cristobalite structure, which greatly extends the service life of furnace lining.
Different grades are available for furnaces of various capacities from hundreds of kilograms up to dozens of tons. Customized formulations can be provided according to customers’ melting materials and working conditions.
Main Applications
- Working lining for coreless induction furnaces used for melting cast iron, carbon steel, alloy steel, bronze, brass and copper alloy.
- Lining maintenance and local repairing of intermediate frequency melting furnaces in foundry plants.
- Suitable for intermittent and continuous metal smelting production lines.
