Product Overview

Phosphate-bonded high alumina brick is a typical chemically bonded unburnt refractory product. It takes high-quality high-alumina bauxite clinker as the main raw material, and adopts phosphoric acid or aluminum phosphate solution as the bonding agent. Through semi-dry pressing molding and low-temperature heat treatment within the temperature range of 400°C to 600°C, the brick forms a stable internal structure without high-temperature sintering process.
With alumina content stably maintained between 75% and 80%, the product integrates high refractoriness, excellent abrasion resistance and reliable thermal shock stability. It is a cost-effective and widely applicable refractory lining material for various medium and high-temperature industrial kilns, especially suitable for long-term working conditions with frequent temperature changes and material scouring.

Product Features

The phosphate-bonded high alumina brick possesses superior mechanical strength at room temperature and medium temperature. The stable phosphate bonding structure enables the brick to maintain intact performance under continuous mechanical load and strong material scouring, showing outstanding wear resistance compared with ordinary sintered high alumina bricks.
This refractory brick has excellent thermal shock resistance and anti-spalling performance. It can effectively adapt to frequent heating and cooling cycles during the start-up and shutdown of industrial kilns, reducing the occurrence of cracking, peeling and damage of the lining, and significantly prolonging the overall service life of the kiln lining.
In terms of chemical performance, the product features good chemical stability. It can resist the erosion of weak acid slag, flue gas and ash corrosion in conventional industrial combustion environments, and maintain stable physical and chemical properties in long-term medium-temperature service.
In addition, the product has accurate overall dimensions and stable size tolerance, which brings great convenience for on-site masonry construction. Standard-sized bricks are available in stock, and customized special-shaped bricks can be produced according to the actual structural needs of different kiln parts.
It is worth noting that phosphate-bonded high alumina bricks are suitable for medium-temperature working environments and not recommended for long-term service under ultra-high temperature conditions above 1500°C.

Application Scope

Phosphate-bonded high alumina bricks are widely used in various industrial high-temperature kiln lining projects. In the cement industry, they are the preferred lining materials for rotary kiln transition zone, cooling zone, kiln nose ring and cooler internal lining, and also applicable to vertical cement kilns.
In the active lime production industry, the product can be used for the overall lining of lime rotary calcination kilns to cope with continuous material scouring and temperature fluctuation. It is also suitable for the lining of waste incinerators and biomass incinerators, resisting flue gas corrosion and material abrasion.
Besides, the product has stable application effects in medium-temperature smelting furnaces and calcination kilns of non-ferrous metallurgy industry, as well as wear-resistant parts of boiler linings in thermal power plants.

Product Grades

There are two mainstream grades of phosphate-bonded high alumina bricks to meet different working condition requirements. The standard P-type phosphate brick is suitable for general wear-resistant parts such as the transition zone and calcination zone of cement rotary kilns, with balanced comprehensive performance and high cost performance.
The PA-type phosphate-bonded wear-resistant brick is an upgraded version with enhanced wear resistance. It is specially developed for severely scoured parts such as kiln outlets and cooler interiors, and can maintain stable service performance under long-term strong friction and scouring conditions.

Technical Characteristics

Qualified phosphate-bonded high alumina bricks have stable and reliable technical indicators. The alumina content is not less than 75%, the bulk density reaches more than 2.65g/cm³, and the cold crushing strength is higher than 70MPa, ensuring excellent structural stability and compression resistance. The apparent porosity is controlled within a low range, which effectively improves the anti-corrosion and anti-permeability ability of the brick. The refractoriness under load is higher than 1350°C, meeting the medium-temperature operation requirements of most industrial kilns.
