Directly Bonded Magnesite Chrome Bricks – Premium Refractory for Extreme High-Temperature Furnaces
1. Product Introduction
Directly bonded magnesite chrome brick is a top-grade basic refractory material manufactured with high-purity fused magnesia and high-quality chromite ore as main raw materials. The finished brick is formed under high pressure and fired at ultra-high temperature without adding excess binding agents. During sintering, direct solid-state bonding forms between magnesia and chrome spinel crystals, which gives the product far better high-temperature performance than ordinary chemically bonded magnesia chrome bricks.
This series of bricks maintains stable structure under severe service conditions, and it is widely recognized as the core lining material for metallurgical furnaces, glass melting furnaces, cement rotary kilns and non-ferrous smelting equipment. Multiple grades are available to match different furnace atmosphere, temperature and slag erosion environments.
2. Key Physical & Chemical Advantages
Superior High-Temperature Load Resistance
Direct crystal bonding greatly improves the refractoriness under load. The brick will not deform or soften under long-term working temperature above 1700°C. It can bear heavy lining load continuously without structural collapse during furnace continuous production.
Excellent Slag & Alkali Corrosion Resistance
The composite magnesia-chrome spinel phase has stable chemical inertia against both acidic and basic molten slag. It effectively resists erosion from cement clinker, glass liquid, metal oxide melt and alkaline flue gas, slowing down lining thinning and extending service life obviously.
Outstanding Thermal Shock Stability
Low thermal expansion coefficient and compact inter crystalline bonding structure enable the brick to withstand frequent temperature fluctuation during furnace startup, shutdown and intermittent production. It rarely cracks, peels or spalls under rapid cold-hot alternation, cutting frequent furnace maintenance downtime.
Dense Structure & Low Porosity
High-pressure molding and ultra-high-temperature direct sintering create low apparent porosity and high bulk density. Dense inner structure blocks the penetration of molten slag and high-temperature gas, preventing internal erosion and damage from inside out.
Long Service Life & Comprehensive Cost Reduction
Compared with ordinary magnesia chrome bricks, directly bonded types achieve 30%~80% longer service cycle. Less frequent furnace shutdown for brick replacement reduces production loss, labor cost and refractory replacement expense in the long run.
3. Main Application Fields
- Cement Industry Rotary Kilns Transition zone, burning zone and secondary firing zone of large and medium-sized cement rotary kilns, especially suitable for kilns with high alkali content raw materials.
- Glass Melting Furnaces Regenerator checker bricks, side wall and bottom lining of soda-lime glass, borosilicate glass melting furnaces, resisting erosion from high-temperature glass liquid.
- Non-Ferrous Metallurgy Furnaces Copper smelting reverberatory furnaces, lead-zinc smelting furnaces, nickel and cobalt calcination rotary kilns, anti-oxidation and anti-slag lining for molten metal contact areas.
- Steel & Metallurgical Heating Furnaces High-temperature soaking pit, electric furnace slag line area, ladle lining for special alloy smelting with severe alkaline slag erosion.
- Industrial High-Temperature Incinerators Hazardous waste incineration kilns with complex flue gas composition and variable high-temperature working conditions.
